Fendryk takes his Next Step
Sherwood Fendryk, 23, was a 2007 graduate of Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT and captain of the wrestling team. In July 2007, Sherwood was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in upstate New York. He suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs, removal of his spleen, and eventually doctors had to amputate his left leg below the knee.
With the help of family, friends, and his school community he has begun his road to recovery. He has joined the Adaptive Adventures Skiing program, a 501(c) 3, mobile, non-resort based organization that works hard to "bring programs to people" rather than "people to programs."
Jothy Rosenberg - Who Says I Can't...
"From
the first phone call we have been nothing but pleased. I
can't begin to tell you what a comfort it was to know, as
a parent what were going to face was not as scary after
meeting all of you. I was no longer afraid for my daughter
but excited to know you were going to help her begin her
new life. I love going to your office as we are always greeted
with smiles and assurance all will be fine. Thank you again
to everyone at Next Step for helping my daughter get her
life back and being the child she was longing to be again!"
